Functions

Inbound Management is responsible for identifying, labelling, and receiving incoming materials (final products, semi-finals, raw materials) in the warehouse and their preparation for put-away. The inbound management module supports all operations regarding preparation of receipt, barcode labelling of the logistics units, management of pre-receiving ASN (Advanced Shipped Notices), standardization of storage units, as well as cross docking functions.

aberon WMS, using wireless barcode technology and RFID technology, achieves fast and error-free receipt of products or materials in the warehouse.

A structural element of the Inbound Management is the capability to certify the quality of the received goods through parametrically set quality control schemes that lead to the total or partial acceptance of the materials as well as their rejection.

The Management of Incomings operations include management of the SKUs received from production and management of returns and cross docking.

Outbound Operations Management

The main mission of a Warehouse or a Distribution Centre is to accurately process the orders by making efficient use of the available warehouse resources (employees – equipment). aberon WMS manages all functions of preparing picking orders, such as order data entering, order processing, inventory blocking, order grouping, load and packaging , and order pre-routing.

A main feature of aberon WMS is the maintenance of the products' lot tracking (FIFO-FEFO) and the traceability management. The system supports all order picking types and methods, such as picking per order, per customer group, per loading wave, per route, on an aggregate basis, per picking zone, per lot or based on the special designation etc. Order picking via aberon WMS is made using wireless terminals, RFID terminal, carton labels, coupons, picking lists, pick-by-light, or pick-cart systems able to integrate with weighing scale devices and other warehouse automation.

aberon WMS effectively manages products or materials of special requirements such as complex SKUs, SKUs of variable weight, products having many dimensions (colour, size), goods with production lots and internal lots and SKUs with serial numbers.

The picking is performed at any level of the logistics hierarchical units (e.g. palette, carton, package, single item). aberon WMS issues automatically and forwards picking tasks to the users' wireless terminals by taking into account the orders and delivery services' priorities, the special requirements of each picking zone, and the available warehouse resources. This is all done while minimizing the picking time and the pickers' movements in the warehouse.

Internal Distribution Management

Put-away of the SKUs in the warehouse is responsible for transferring the logistics units received to the appropriate warehouse zones and locations. aberon WMS, through special algorithms, produces and forwards storage tasks to the wireless terminals of the operators by combining the SKUs' characteristics with the storage zones and locations' characteristics. These allows the end user to better view and exploit the storage space and minimize the put=away workload.

Using barcode technologies and wireless networks, aberon WMS achieves exact and quick transfer of the materials to the storage locations. The System manages replenishments of the picking locations from the storage locations via multiple replenishment scenarios, set by parameters, such as quantities' replenishment based on orders executed, replenishment based on minimum quantity of the picking location, or replenishment by order.

aberon WMS supports all types of storage systems (e.g. Block Stacking, Back-to-Back, Drive-In, Live Storage, Push Back, etc) and provides the user with the ability to make a route in the warehouse using virtual reality.

Consignment Management

The consignment management of aberon WMS ensures compliance of the order's consignment with the client's particular requirements relevant to the packaging, palletization, consignment unit labelling, packing lists, delivery time, issue of accompanying documents, transportation means etc.
aberon WMS supports order packaging in multiple levels of cartons through wireless terminals. The packing process supports SKU weighing via connection of aberon WMS with weighing devices. Upon completion of the packing process, the ERP System is informed to produce the vouchers and to send the order to the client.

Inventory and Cycle Count Management

aberon WMS supports all kinds of counts, such as global inventory count, cycle count, partial inventory count, inventory count by SKU, inventory count by geographical region or locations group etc. The inventory is performed via wireless terminals that ensure the high accuracy of the stock in the warehouse.

Wireless Network and Task Management

aberon WMS coordinates and optimizes the workload in the warehouse by creating work tasks that are sent in real-time to the wireless terminals of the forklifts and the pedestrian operators. It allows the Distribution Centre officers to monitor the performance rates of the warehouse resources (employees, equipments) and enables them to draw correct forecasting and reviews of all works.

Linking of external Software/Hardware Systems

aberon WMS allows two-way and real-time communication with external software and hardware systems such as ERP systems, MRP systems, wireless networks, weighing scales, ASRS (Automatic Storage and Retrieving Systems), conveyor belts, sorters, pick-by-light systems, pick-carts etc. aberon WMS records in detail all tasks and processes, contributing to the detection of errors and the extraction of statistics helping management to make proper decisions.
